I have been so busy in Melbourne filming the new television series Outland, I have not had the opportunity to tell you all about the Christine Anu Award for Vocal Excellence.
I was recently asked if I would lend my name to a scholarship for the Australian Girls Choir performing choristers. The opportunity to work with professionals in the Australian music industry makes an invaluable contribution to these young ladies musical development. It also inspires them to one day pursue a career on stage. I have absolutely loved working with the AGC over the years. It also meant the world to me when the Choir recently performed at my wedding.
The recipient for the Christine Anu Award for Vocal Excellence is Ella Pace. Ella is a Melbourne chorister and has been a dedicated member of the choir since 1999 and has progressed through the levels of training to join the Performing Choir in 2008. Ella received the Outstanding Potential Award in 2003, 2005 and 2007 and since then she has received a number of special parts at the Choirs Annual Concerts. In recognition of Ella’s beautiful vocal quality she was selected from over 300 senior choristers to perform the opening solo in Fields of Gold on the AGC Chasing Rainbow CD. Congratulations to this beautiful young woman.
Big Love
