CHOIRBOYS & FRIENDS 2011 FLOOD RELIEF CONCERT – FRIDAY 4TH FEBRUARY – REVESBY WORKERS CLUB
FRIDAY 4TH FEBRUARY – REVESBY WORKERS CLUB
Australia’s rock legends, the Choirboys, have banded together with some of their musician friends to raise money for the devastating floods affecting Queensland, northern New South Wales and country Victoria.
The Choirboys and Friends 2011 Flood Relief Concert will donate 100 per cent of the funds raised to the Premier’s Disaster Appeal. Joining the legends of rock on stage will be friends such as Christine Anu, Angry Anderson, Paulini, Melinda Schneider, Casey Donovan and more (to be announced soon). They will all be performing to help raise these much needed funds. Everyone associated with the concert has donated their time, so that 100 per cent of the proceeds can be donated.
Ian Hulme from the Choirboys says the concert will bring people together when it is needed. “This is not just a flood, not just a disaster, it is something that unites all of Australia for a common cause,” he says.
Mark Gable agrees, encourages music fans from all around to get together to help those affected rebuild. “Choirboys have enjoyed over 30 years of longevity, in this time we have seen many things during our travels across Australia including; drought, financial downturn and of course floods,” he explains. “We have never seen anything like this in the past 30 years since the band started. So we feel it is our turn to give something back to a country that has given so much to us. Choirboys have decided to do their part and put on a concert at the Revesby Workers Club on the 4th of February to raise funds for the flood victims of the flood affected in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.”
The concert will feature Choirboys and friends performing duets of Choirboys songs and other songs that make their ‘friends’ some of Australia’s most loved entertainers. The concert will be hosted by the gorgeous Susie Elelman.
With a career spanning three decades, the Choirboys are currently celebrating their 30th anniversary touring, and will be sharing the songs from these years, such as Boys Will be Boys, Run to Paradiseand Never Gonna Die with audiences at the flood relief concert.
This is a chance for all music lovers to get together and show their support for those who need it most. “Choirboys hope that you can all come along and participate in what will be a great night for a great cause of,” Mark says. “Come on and let’s help them rebuild.”
