Every year I sponsor the Australian School of Performing Arts (Australian Girls Choir) with the Christine Anu Award of Vocal Excellence.

The recipient in 2011 was the very talented Tahra Cannon. Tahra joined the choir in 2003 and has been a dedicated member of their most senior level since 2010. She has expressed her performance skills on several international and national tours, including tours to Ireland, Scotland, Italy, France, Hong Kong and America. She even performed for the Pope at the Vatican City (jealous much!!!!) On her last tour to the United States, Tahra was chosen to sing My Island Home …. I am very proud!!!

In Tahra’s own words “This scholarship has given me renewed hope and ambition to continue to pursue music as a career after school. I would love to join the Australian Opera and obtain a Bachelor of Music at University. I would like to thank you again for your life changing award”.

It is so important we continue to support our stars of tomorrow. I am absolutely honoured to share this with you.
